Maggie’s Centre’s provide free support to anyone affected by cancer and the Cheltenham branch has helped so many people from the Cheltenham community including a number of those at Beards. The fantastic total raised last year went towards supporting hundreds of people and many of the 40,000 people we have welcomed through the doors at the Cheltenham center since we opened. Last year thousands of pounds were raised by the event and this year Beards and Maggie’s are hoping to beat the 2014 total.Ĭentre Fundraiser Anna Mason, from Maggie’s Cheltenham, said: “It’s such a pleasure to be working with Beards and I’m so delighted that they have agreed to stage the Diamond Rush this year. Hundreds of hunters are expected to flood to Cheltenham in search of a sparkling stone. I’m delighted to finally announce that yes we will, so watch this space as plans are already firmly underway!” After the phenomenal success of last year’s event, we’ve received an outstanding response from people wondering if we will be doing it again this year. The fantastic support of the people of Cheltenham brings the magic to the Diamond Rush and truly makes the event. Managing Director Alex Rose, from Beards, said: “We are utterly thrilled to be returning with our Diamond Rush once again and cannot wait to be back – more spectacular than ever before. Each stone will be a Round Brilliant cut diamond, exclusively sourced for the Beards Diamond Rush. Nine diamonds, each with a value of £1,000, will also be hidden at top secret locations throughout the regency town. There will be one single diamond with a grand value of £5,000 hidden somewhere in Cheltenham to mark Maggie’s 5th anniversary. The date also marks the 5th anniversary of the Cheltenham Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre.īigger and better than ever before, diamonds with a total value of £14,000 will be hidden in Cheltenham. The event will take place on Saturday 17 October to coincide with the 100th birthday of the late Peggy Waite, 4th generation of the Beards founding family.
